I heard that there are different kinds of seismic waves. Some cause little damage and some can cause greater damage. I want to know, what kind of waves causes the most damage in an earth quake?

    Surface waves, also called long waves, or L waves, are responsible for most of the damage associated with earthquakes because they have the highest amplitude of all the types of seismic wave.
