    BAFTA stands for British Academy of Film and Television Arts and it is a United Kingdom organization that gives awards to the people who perform very well in the television, television craft, video games and forms of animation.
    BAFTA was founded in 1947 as the British Film Academy, by David Lean, Alexander Korda, Carol Reed, Charles Laughton, Roger Manvell and other leading figures in the British film industry.Academy was united with the Guild of Television Producers and Directors to form the Society of Film and Television, which later became the British Academy of Film and Television.
