    Todd Bairstow, a 28-year-old mine worker from Rio Tinto, was fishing at a creek in northern Queensland when the saltwater crocodile lunged at him and tried to drag him in. Mr. Bairstow kept punching and kicking the crocodile, poking it in the eyes and trying to pull its jaws apart, before his friend heard his screams and came to the rescue, hitting it over the nose with a big branch, causing it to let go of him.
