Can someone tell me that why is it so difficult to get to the terminals of Brisbane Airport? It almost take 2 to 3 hours to reach there.

South East Queensland is experiencing unprecedented population growth with over 60,000 new people residing in Queensland each year. This growth puts major pressure on the infrastructure around the state, especially the roads. Brisbane Airport is not immune to this population growth and as a result, the roads surrounding the airport such as the Gateway Arterial, Kingsford Smith Drive, Nudgee Rd, and the East West Arterial are under a lot of stress. This means that when there’s even a small accident on one of these roads, the entire surrounding road network, including Brisbane Airport roads is heavily impacted, making it difficult for people to get to and from the Airport

Where are you coming from? It takes me about 40 minutes to get from Brisbane's CBD to Brisbane Airport via car. If you're travelling in peak hour, you can always catch the Airtrain from the city or Gold Coast. 2-3 hours is not normal. It sounds like you were stuck in a traffic jam!
