England may be on the verge of World Cup qualification, but their goalkeeper conundrum is far from being sorted and must be addressed before next summer’s tournament in South Africa.

It's been an issue since David Seaman entered the winter of his career and made several howlers.

England have a number of average goalkeepers but we lack a Casillas or a Buffon - keepers who really make a big difference for their international sides.

Out of the current batch, I think Robert Green should don the gloves. But Ben Foster's next few games for Manchester United will determine whether or not he ends the season with enough experience to play in the World Cup.

We lack a Lehmann, Casillas or a Buffon, they are inspirational for their countries.

We have James, Green, Foster, Kirkland, Robinson, Carson and Bywater to choose from, and at the moment the best are James and Foster.
