   Hitler did not invade Britain as some of the Reich were already on the land since 1931 or 1934. The Home Guard was principally staffed by Germans who were trapped in England and could not return to their homeland. England had a number of prisoner of war camps for detaining Germans and others captured by the Allied forces in Europe. At the end of the war a significant number of those released were permitted to reside in England and they created a population more multicultural than seen before.The overthrow of France in the war caused some jurisdiction difficulties for England and this led to a weaker nation, but the Americans stationed in England helped to improve morale and the availability of supplies.
