When you cite an interview in the text, how do you cite a direct quote? Do you use quotations for a direct interview quote?

    Hi,
Let me start with that I'm as not familiar with APA as much as I am with MLA style. I suggest that you go to your professor or his/her assistant with these questions to make sure that you're on the right track.

ALso,doesn't APA have abstracts? I think that's where you'd want your opinion to go. But, you would need to stay third person, which you can do. You simply write it as a statement. It doesn't matter the style use, you should never do the "I think; my opinion; etc." Just state it as fact...as long as you can back it up with your research. The insecurity comes in when you know that you're expressing an opinion. But, have confidence in yourself. You need to believe that you did your best--got the information you needed--and your opinion, which can be written throughout the report as findings too, can be interspersed throughout the paper.

As far as starting the paper, I would begin with the intro/bio, problem, hypothesis, theories, findings, etc. Don't make it harder than it needs to be. And, yes, start with the bio in the introductory paragraph; then state the problem; and progress from there.
