green light is on,beeps when turned on but no signal,checked cables,etc.

    It's most likely the volume potentiometer.  We have 16 of these in house and all of the volume pots have been changed at least once.
    You can get them direct from JBL. Their part number is 513-00046-00 and the cost is around $11.00 ( that's from a Feb 09 price list).
