non muslim with a muslim father willing to convert to marry me. What does islam say?

i have a non Muslim man who what to marry me, but he grew up  with his mother who was a christian. His father is a Muslim but never had a chance to see him until he was old enough to take care of him self. His mother passed away and he is now building up a relationship with his dad, and they are getting along well. is it ok for me to get married to him if he converts?
