    Generally speaking if the contact appears under the pending column?  If yes, he/she needs to authorise you first.  If that is not the case then make sure you added the PIN and not the email.  That usually fix's the issue.  Lastly if all else fails Note that only one of you can add the other. You both can't do that at the same time. Wait until its been fully added as a contact. Sometimes they get stuck in the pending/waiting authorization step.
