Are Americans basically Europeans

Are Americans basically Europeans if not where did they come from? Everyone living in America at one point or another in historical journey came from ancestors who were from a different part of the world.  People come to American looking for their American dream from all over Europe but does this mean all Americans are basically Europeans?

    Yes. All white Americans are. After Columbus discovered the American continent there were many wars going on between Europeans and Native Americans, so many European people settled in North America. At least that's what I think, because American people were originally Native Americans and European people were/are white.
