As an African-American, Do I have More or Less Privileges?

I am a third generation Nigerian in the USA. The Affordability Act has clearly spelled out the new reforms for every group. As an Afro-American, are my provisions any different? I have decided to join college and hence no longer a part of my parents’ coverage. I need to buy an individual plan.

Though the Affordability Act has categorised various groups according to age and ethnicity, the basic provisions remain the same for all categories. You will be eligible for tax credits as a student. You can also stay in your parents’ coverage till the age of 26 if their policy covers the area you studying. The data collection will help the government to design health policies customised for the needs of African- Americans. However, the reforms do not discriminate any ethnic groups and that is a good sign.
