Do you know why my Yamaha RX-V461 receiver is not putting out sound?

I have a Yamaha RX-v461 receiver the other night we unhooked it to put in new carpet. I re-hooked all the cables and speaker wires and the sound was perfect until we realized we had not plugged in the subwoofer. My brother plugged it into the multi-channel subwoofer in slot which was the wrong one. I unplugged it and put it where it is supposed to be but now there is no sound at all and only the Left and Right speakers show on the display. In addition, the receiver shows Start on the display when powered on
