Does this sound like a lip infection?

I had a minor surgery on my lip. at the follow up, the doc cut most of the stitch out. It's been a few days and the skin on my lips is peeling. On the stitch site, the skin is a light caramel color. There was a tiny bit of white discharge (didn't look like pus, it was more watery) and then a little blood. I have an ointment the doctor gave me after the surgery that I put on it along with vaseline along the enitre lip because it's dry. Does it sound like an infection? It does hurt along the entire lip in a dull constant way. There is slight swelling. Will I need antibiotics? I was on antibiotics after the surgery but finished them the morning of the follow up.

    Hi,
what's going on is that your piercing is not yet ready to be changed..if it hurts it means that its not ready. My recommendation is, to leave the stud on for a couple more months, try it again and if the same thing happens leave the stud for longer. This depends on how your immune system responds to the piercing. So for now use a lot of listerine to keep your mouth as free as possible of bacteria and clean the stud also on the outside with Dial Antibacterial Soap. Good luck
