I think it takes lot of time for a site to get noticed by Alexa, so I want to let Alexa crawlers know about my site myself. How to do this?

To have your site included in Alexa’s crawl of the Web, simply make a request using the form at the bottom of the For Webmasters page at page http://www.alexa.com/help/webmasters.

Well, I don’t think that it takes that much time for Alexa crawler to discover your website. If your website in new, it normally takes one week maximum for Alexa to show up your site in its ranking. If your website is not showing up in Alexa after one week only then you should worry and manually invite Alexa to crawl your website through its webmaster help center. I would advise, however, not to directly call Alexa or any other bot, instead let them come at their own, because I feel the more you run after something the more it gets away from you.

Well, right after creation of your website, it’s good to share it with your friends, social bookmarks etc and you will get many crawlers including Alexa  on your site. And yes, most important of all; do not call any bot until you don’t have good content on your pages, else your site is going to be marked as spam may be! Check everything before sharing your website link anywhere and I hope things will work for you!
