How do I transfer a file from an external hardrive to my computer

    Plug the external hard drive to the computer. Wait for the drivers to load. Open "my computer" in XP or "computer" in Vista. Find the hard drive in there, open it, find the file(s) you want, highlight them, right click the highlighted files once, click copy, then right click and paste them in your documents folder or on your desktop.
