    Figures of speech can be confusing for some children to grasp. Using activities that excite the children, helps with the retention of important facts. Using alliteration provides a silly speech pattern that delights the ears of the students. Similes, metaphors and personification, when used correctly, turn ordinary writing into an extraordinary piece. Hyperbole exaggerates common phrases to emphasize a point. Student who use figures of speech in their writings will see their words come alive.
