The Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney has got off to a flying start to the 2009/10 season for both club and country and will continue to rise to the challenge in his most demanding campaign yet.

    I think so.

    As always, he has that fire in his belly and hunger to score goals. But now with Ronaldo gone from United he has a more important and prominant role to play. He can also finally play as a proper striker which will benefit not only United, but also England before the start of the World Cup.

    He'll still be smarting after being denied the chance to play at Euro 2008 and will prove to be England's key player in South Africa.
