Skype has been shutting down on its own multiple times today. Is this a widespread problem today? 12-22-10

I have the same problem (Spain). I also cannot open Skype "Help" sites, cannot change my password... nothing is working
I can't log on from two different sites with two different computers. Dec 22, 2010 1:22PM EST.
I'm having the same problem, I'm in the U.K. and time is 18:26
I keep getting the "You are offline" and there is no way to get the program to check the online box.

Skype on my pc's is not connecting, but my android phone app is.
ME too, London UK. Not working on main system, laptop or iPhone.
Skype does not work any more In Morristown, Tennessee - USA. Goes on then stops again.

Yeah, I guess this problem is global. Can't connect to skype - tried clean reinstalling - didn't work, tried installing an older version - didn't work. Checked the ports - everything seemed ok. Hope this will get fixed soon.

Me too I'm in Costa Rica. can't log on to skype messager nor use my skype Iphone. Must be the bad weather
Same problems in Italy. It seems it broke down completely...

virginia, usa, east coast, problems starting late yesterday and all morning, it connects once and awhile, then immediately goes down after short connect (spinning gray connect in action)...
big time problems in Wisconsin, California, Michigan and Ohio too.

Skype HAS NOT BEEN WORKING since 8 in the morning here in Chicago. Tried to reinstall, nothing helps! The result of trubleshooting is application incompatibility. I have been using skype for more than a year, and never had it before. Which service Pack works better with Windows 7?

UK here, I'm guessing this is Christmas overload or global earthquake. The earth definately moved in Cumbria last night... and the gods blew their load this morning, but how that equates to skype going down on me, only Freud can guess.

I'm in the U.K. and occasionally get a skype in call that works but the rest of the time continuous trying to connect. After it does connect briefly I noticed that only a few hundred thousand people were connected to skype instead of the usual amount of millions. More info here: skype.com/intl/en-us/StatusUpdate/

so that means they have not solved yet the problem.

Skype has always been a very reliable service but not it is crashing. Problem still persists on Brazil on the 23rd... close to Xmas.. very bad !
