I am very fond of documentary films. I got to know that The Cave of Forgotten Dreams is available on DVD. As I don’t have enough time to watch it in cinema so I was waiting for its DVD copy. I love to watch documentary films. Please give me short review of the movie and its availability in DVD so that I can make my mind to watch it as soon as possible. Thanks!

Cave of Forgotten Dreams is a 3-D documentary film released on 13 September, 2010. The film is about the Chauvet Cave in southern France made by Werner Herzog. The film had debute at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival and have the inside footage of the cave and have interviews of various scientists and historians as well. You can also find the footage of the nearby Pont d'Arc natural bridge in the film.

Werner Herzog filmed into the nearly unreachable Chauvet Cave in France, where you can find ancient visual art identified to have been produced by man. It is estimated that the pristine artwork belong to an earlier time to human hands over more than 30,000 years ago which is twofold to any previous discovery.

The cave is very carefully maintained and the general public does not have permission to go into. Herzog obtained exceptional consent from the ministry of culture, France to film interior of the cave. Despite having permission, Herzog, however, had to film under very heavy restrictions. All persons who have authorization to go in should wear specially made suites and footwear that do not make contact with the exterior of the cave.  Because of toxicity of radon and carbon dioxide, no one can remain inside the cave for only few hours per day.
