    Hello,

It's happened over and over through out history. There has been a lot of talk recently of the United States making the same mistakes as Romans, Spanish and German empires. What happened in each of these empires is they became such huge world powers and started to take over so many territories and so much land that they spread their forces too thin. Other countries/empires noticed the spread of the forces and attacked the weakened or depleted units. For example the Germans, during Hitler's reign, were so powerful and advanced that they controlled most of the European continent. They then decided to try and move in towards the Asian countries. When they invaded Russia their troops were so depleted and unprepared for the elements that the Russians were able to over take them and the trend started to follow throughout Europe. The same happened to the Romans. When the Romans had control over most of modern day Europe, other empires teamed up and attacked and were able to sack Rome.
