There are some treatments which are available for the ADHD, these treatments are listed below:

You can set specific, appropriate target goals to guide therapy.

Medication and behavior therapy should be started.

In case the treatment has not met some of the targets, then evaluate the original diagnosis, there is a possibility of the presence of conditions, and how these treatment plans have been implemented.

The systematic follow up is now more important to assess the target goals, the results and also any of the side effects of medications. The information should then be gathered from the parents, teachers and the children. The ADHD can be a frustrating problem. The alternative remedies have become much more popular which include herbs, supplements and other chiropractic manipulation. There is a very little evidence for the remedies which are marketed to the parents.

There are children who received both type of treatment such as behavioral and medication to do best. Medications should not be used to make life easier for parents or school. There are now many different classes of the ADHD medications that are now used alone or with a combination. Some of the primary drugs which are used to treat ADHD is Psychostimulants. Although these drugs stimulate the central nervous system as they have a calming effect on the people with ADHD.

    Some of these drugs are:

    Methylphenidate

    Dexmethylphenidate

    Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine

    Lisdexamfetamine.
