Northern Ireland have two games left to play, at home to group leaders Slovenia.  With Northern Ireland on 14 points and Slovakia on  16, a win would see Northern Ireland go to the top of the group and leave them with an excellent chance of a top two finish. Northern Ireland have played one game more than the other teams competing for qualification in the group, but a win at home against Slovenia and then any sort of result away in Prague against the Czechs would see them in with a good chance of securing a play-off.
Confidence is high in the Northern Ireland camp, although the loss of Kyle Lafferty for the Slovakia game is a blow, and it will be hard for them in Prague if they go there needing a win, however the group is very tight and Northern Ireland have as good a chance as Poland or Slovenia to qualify.
