can a rifled slug be shot through a rifled barrel without damaging it

    Yes, you can but you will get better accuracy with the sabot style slugs in your rifled barrel. And some brands will be better than others. It will depend on your particular shotgun. Try both I have had at short ranges excellent accuracy with old style forester slugs however to hit consistently beyond 75 yards I find the newer sabot style slugs better. I am going to try the new polymer tipped Hornaday and Remington slugs this summer and see how they do.
