I recently had a checking account used to settle my mother's trust after her death. Shamefully, I messed up bounced 1 check, which I quickly remedied, then thought I added an extra 100 deposit that I never did actually do. I did not look at my statements, thinking there was no activity, only service charges and I thought I had enough money while things were finishing up. I didn't. I went OD because of the service charge, then again. They didn't charge anymore service charges, but held my acct open, until I now learned there was a forced closure. I'm sick about this and worried about my credit for the future now. I've not done the best this last year and didn't take care of business like I should have, but before this had very good credit. What do I do now? How bad will this effect my credit score and/or my ability to have future bank accts, write checks, etc. P.
