    Hello,

    Seriously, though, I'm supposed to identify this insect (or mite, or whatever) by the color of the spot it leaves after you pulverize it???  Give me a BREAK!  

    All I'm going to do is tell you my suspect:  springtails, not all species of which jump.

    Good luck with that, but don't expect anyone else to be able to help you without seeing an actual, INTACT specimen.
