what does killing a wolf while protecting family in a dream mean?

me my ex wife my son and my sister were driving somewhere and it was the middle of the night so we stopped at an old building. we saw that all the doors were still on as well as the windows so we went inside with a lantern and set up some beds and proceded to go to bed about a half hour after we laid down we started to hear howls and scratching on he building. i got up and went to the window and looked out. there were about ten to fifteen wolves outside the building as well as some that i could not see. there was one that i looked at that stared right back at me and proceeded to charge the building well there was another one that was bigger and darker in color that knocked that one down and i of corse jumoing into protection mode ran to the window to stop the wolf. it broke the window got its head through and i grabed it by the throat and shoved my hand down its throat. then i started to pound its head on the broken glas that remained in the pane until its head got cut off. i continued to pound its head until it was just a skull. i then looked at the rest of the pack who now looked at me in disbelief that i had killed this member of the pack and said you want to go well lets go cause i will die protecting my family so lets do this. the rest of the pack turned and ran off what does it mean ?
