    HI,
SSPCIC.SYS driver is compliant to PC Card Standard Version 7.0 and fully support CardBus cards configuration. However, the IBM Card Services driver PCMCIA.SYS is only compliant with Card Standard Version 2.x and not aware of CardBus.
In order to use CardBus card customer has two choices:

To obtain version of PCMCIA.SYS compliant with PC Card Standard 5.x or higher from IBM if such version is available.
To obtain Card Services client driver from Card Manufacturer if such version is available.

To obtain Direct Enabler driver from Card Manufacturer if such version is available. Please keep in mind that direct enablers are usually not compatible with Socket and Card Services and do not support hot-swap of cards. Therefore you likely will have to uninstall Socket and Card Services before use direct enabler.
