I am an under graduate student of history, I need some information about India, actually my teacher assigned me an activity about collection of some information about India, please help me, thanks.

     The total number of population of India is more than 1.1 billion; and the world's largest democracy ruled here. The country is ranked as the second most populous nation, after China. Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increase 5.7 percent annually during the 1990s and grew to 6.4 percent annually during 2000-08, giving the title to the India as the second fastest growing economy in the world during every period (after China). India's annual population growth rate decrease from 2.2 percent in the 1980s to 1.7 percent during 1990-2005, and remained at 1.3 percent during 2005-15.

    Despite the reduction in the population, India is expected to overtake China as the world's most populous country in the coming years. Approximately 71 percent of India's population remains rural and about 58 percent of the population dependent on agriculture for income and live hood, the urban population is increasing at about 2.5 percent annually. Middle-class households, accounting for about 200 million users, are the fastest increasing part of the population and are having an increasing influence on the growth and diversification of food demand.

    India has a vast and diverse agricultural industry, accounting for about 21 percent of GDP and 10 percent of export earnings. India positioned among the top three global producers of a broad range of products, including wheat, rice, pulses,chickpeas, pigeon peas, lentils, dry peas, and many other crops also.
