There was a time when the likes of Latvia, Slovakia and Bosnia-Herzegovina were cannon fodder for the bigger teams. Now they are to be taken seriously and with France, Spain and Portugal faltering, are we seeing a new world order established in the World Cup?

Yea you are bang on, Gareth. I think Eastern Europe are much better now than they have been, probably ever. The likes of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Latvia and Slovakia have been going great guns in qualifying. There are players from Serbia, Slovakia and others in the Premiership and whilst the likes of Russia, Croatia and the Czechs have done well before this is a whole new era of Eastern European teams coming through.
