   The cricket was played in sub-continent before the independence of Pakistan. After the independence cricket in the country developed steadily and Pakistan was given Test match status at a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference at Lord's Cricket Ground in England on 28 July 1952 by the recommendation of India. The first captain of the Pakistan national cricket team was Abdul Kardar. In the captaincy of Abdul Kardar Pakistan’s played its first test match series against in Delhi on October 1952. The series was won by India by 2-1. After series against India Pakistan made its first tour of England in 1954 and drew the series 1-1 after a memorable victory at The Oval in which fast bowler Fazal Mahmood took 12 wickets. Pakistan hosted its first test match series in Dacca in January 1955 against India, after which four more Test matches were played in  Bahawalpur,  Lahore,  Peshawar  and Karachi. All these five matches were drawn, first time in the history of cricket. After that Pakistan played many series which also include the world cup series. Pakistan cricket team was the champions of World Cup 1992 and was runners-up in 1999 world cup. Pakistan team also won 2009 ICC T20 world cup.

   Cricket was played in subcontinent far behind the independence of Pakistan by the Britishers. After independence Pakistan was given Test match status at a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference at Lord's Cricket Ground in England on 28 July 1952. Pakistan played its first test match against India in Delhi in October 1952 under the captaincy of Abdul Kadar. The series of 5 tests matches which India won by 2-0. After series against India Pakistani team flew to India for its first tour against England in 1954, the series was drawn by 1-1. Then after this Pakistan played many test match and one day series and were the victorious in many of them. Pakistani cricket team was the champ of 1992 world and T20 world cup 2009.
