   Here are some of the following steps that are required to fix the air conditioner.
   
   First of all you have to remove the main grill of your unit. Try to Pry it off with a putty knife as it is help by clips, or try using a screwdriver if it is properly screwed in place.
   
   After this unplug the air conditioner, slide it out of the window cabinet and then set it on a plain and sturdy table. Next you can locate the mesh filter cover. The mesh filter cover works like fins on the machines evaporator coils. In the next step, remove the filter, wash the grill with a mixture of warm, soapy water and bleach, this will remove all the excessive mould present. Shake out the water that is in excess amount and also set the filter and the grill in the dry drain.
   
   The next step is that you should vacuum the evaporator by using a brush attachment. Later on remove the stubborn dust and dirt with a plastic scrub brush. Next you must inspect the fins on the coil. If all the fins are in proper place and in good position and form then it is fine otherwise you have to straighten them up.
   
   The last thing that you need to do is to vacuum the coils thoroughly, by using the vacuum and the brush attachment. Also remove the dirt and dust from a plastic scrub brush.
