As you install a kitchen sink you will invariably need to install a sink flange in the sink. One method of preventing this dripping is to apply putty to the flange. To apply plumber’s putty to your sink flange, press a 1/2 inch roll of putty around the bottom edge of your flange. Insert the flange into the flange hole in the sink, then attach the rubber gasket and flange nut and securely tighten the nut with a pipe wrench.  This flange, once installed properly, allows water in the sink to drain out of the sink without dripping.
