Matthew Upson will partner John Terry in central defence against Croatia on Wednesday; when Rio Ferdinand returns from injury, Upson has no chance of keeping his place.

    It is fair to say Ferdinand and Terry should remaing the starting two centre backs when both fit. Upson is an able deputy, as is King and Woodgate of Spurs, but outside of that I wouldn't like anyone else coming in.
