If you observe that your vehicle no longer assaults freezing air, you should recharge the refrigerant in the air-conditioning system. A new canister of R134a refrigerant can be bought at an auto components shop, and you can recharge your vehicle in your car dock, keeping you a journey to the shop.

    • Lift the hood of the vehicle and find the air-conditioning recharge hose (this hose is established at the peak of the motor compartment beside the firewall). Connect the recharge hose to the fitting on the refrigerant canister and open the recharge hose´s valve. Leave the valve open for 15 seconds and then close it and disconnect the recharge hose from the refrigerant canister.

    • Locate the high and low-side fittings on the air-conditioning system. To find these fittings, you should first find the compressor and the lines that run from the compressor. One of the lines proceeds to the accumulator and the other line sprints to the condenser. The low-side fitting is discovered on the line that sprints to the accumulator and the high-side fitting. Once you have established the low-side fitting, attach the refrigerant canister´s hose to the low-side fitting.

    • Open the refrigerant canister´s valve to start recharging the air-conditioning system. Start your car´s motor and turn the air-conditioning scheme to its greatest setting. Leave the vehicle with the air-conditioning on for 10 minutes, and then turn the vehicle off. Close the refrigerant´s valve and disconnect the refrigerant hose from the low-side fitting.

    • Close the hood of the vehicle and turn the vehicle back on and enlist the air-conditioning afresh for five minutes. This will double-check that the refrigerant circulates all through the air-conditioning system.
