Why does garmin C530 shut down during map loading?

   The problem is with the battery, DC will not fully charge the battery to its required capacity to work. You need an AC charger and to charge it fully ( 10 hrs Max) and then try it. It needs a lot of power to drive the screen and connect to satellites.
   Invest in an AC charger and all should work properly
