   Fiorentina midfielder Cristiano Zanetti has claimed that his current team can compete for trophies this season.
   
   The former Juventus player stated that he has faith in coach Cesare Prandelli and the players that the manager has at his disposal.  The 32-year-old went on to stress that if the players have the necessary belief and trust the team’s abilities, then this will improve La Viola’s chances to challenge on all fronts.
   
   The experienced player did not shy away from making bold statements involving the club and even went on to declare that he does not believe the odds are against the Gigliati battling for domestic as well as European honours.
   
   The player hinted that the club has the talent to achieve important results, but requires the mental strength and fortitude to close in on winning titles.
   
   Zanetti referred to his time with Roma to make his point clear. He said that in his second season with the Giallorossi in 2001, the club was able to win the Scudetto after the team managed to use its talent combined with willpower and determination to win games.
   
   The midfielder left the Viola early on during his career, and only recently returned to the club of his youth.
