    Hi,
    The switch can not be adjusted via the adjustment s***w. You probably have some corrosion inside the box.
    Carefully take the box apart and clean all the connections inside. Check that the  shift linkages are well lubed. There is a microswitch that works with the shift linkage inside.
    Be very careful with the electrical switches as the parts are NLA.
