   After pulling off an upset victory over Andy Murray, Marin Cilic has suddenly emerged as a genuine contender for the US Open title. He is the lowest ranked player remaining in the tournament, at world No. 17, so has his work cut out if he is going to move past the quarterfinals. He has only faced his quarterfinal opponent, Juan Martin del Potro once on the ATP tour. That was at the Australian Open at the start of 2009, and Cilic was defeated on that occasion in four sets. The real problems for the Croatian start if he reaches the semi-finals, where if all goes to plan he faces a potential match up with Rafael Nadal.
