I am very concerned about an incident that took place in Ottawa at the Bank and Wellington/Queen Street McDonalds.  I was there at 3:20 Friday, March 19, 2010 and while waiting to be served I saw an employee (female)who went to get fries and she slipped and fell on the floor.  She slowly got up and looked very shaken.

There was a person at the the cash who just turned around and looked and then turned back.  No body came to help her and only one person asked if she was okay.  She got up and was very embarrassed and came back to the cash and proceeded to serve me.  I asked her if she was okay and she said she was but I could tell that she was very upset.  I asked where her manager was and it was the person standing  beside her who, when she fell, looked back and then continued working.  I could not believe that the manager of the store would not have gone to help her or ask for someone to help her out.  I said to the manager that she should fill in an accident/incident report and she said that she didn't have to do that.  I told her she should fill one in and she said "no I don't have to fill one in because she is not hurt"  How does the manager know if she is hurt or not, she didn't say one word to her or ask how she was.  I told the employee to ignore what the manager just said and to ask for an incident report because she is entitled to complete one.

What happened if she was hurt and was too shy and embarrased to say anything.  The manager should have at least asked how she was and asked if she needed to be relieved for a little while or needed some water or anything.  No she totally ignored her after she fell.  This manager is not suited for that job and should be displined for what happened today.

I would appreciate if you could respond to my complaint as I am very concerned about how the manager treated the employee.  I am sure at McDonalds you are employee oriented and upper management would be appalled to know one of their employees was treated like this.

I never put in complaints but this has been bothering me all afternoon and I feel it is my duty to report this.

I got a sausage and egg McMuffin, hash browns and coffee on Monday May 3rd at the Penticton Mcdonalds on Main Street. Within an hour, my head started to pound and within two hours I was throwing up violently. This went on for about an hour and a half until I had thrown up everything I ate there. I believe it was food poisioning. I am not seeking any reward, just wanted you to know that I probably will not eat at McDonalds again.

My recent experience with the McDonald store employee Ms. Harjeet was very unpleasant. This store located in the Walmart at Islington Ave./Rexdale intersection in Toronto area. She was extremely rude and unfriendly. I am also working in a big retail company and can understand that a simple smile can make a huge difference. When my daughter went for refilling the coke, she refused to refill and when when I requested, she didn't even bothered to look at us. This was my second bad experience and probably my last meal in that McDonald store.

This IS A GOOD DECENT MAN WHO TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE THIS

AND HE SIGNED THE STATEMENT AND INCLUDED HIS CONTACT INFO:

I'm sure those of you who aren't in the cattle business don't
understand the issues here. But to those of us whose living depends on
the cattle market, selling cattle, raising the best beef possible...
    This is frustrating.

This will keep us from ever stopping there again, even for a drink.

The original message is from the Alberta Cattle Feeders Association

Canadian cattle producers are very passionate about this.

McDonald's claims that there is not enough beef in  Canada to support
their restaurants. Well, we know that is not so. Our opinion is they
are looking to save money at our expense. The sad thing of it is that
the people of  Canada are the ones who made McDonald's successful in
the first place, but we are not good enough to provide beef.

We personally are no longer eating at McDonald's, which I am sure does
not make an impact, but if we pass this around maybe there will be an
    impact felt.

Please pass it on. Just to add a note:

All Canadians that sell cattle at a livestock auction barn have to
sign a paper stating that we do NOT EVER feed our cattle any part of
another animal. South Americans are not required to do this as of yet.

McDonald's has announced that they are going to start importing much
of their beef from  South America . The problem is that South
Americans aren't under the same regulations as Canadian beef
producers, and the regulations they have are loosely controlled.

They can spray numerous pesticides on their pastures that have been
banned here at home because of residues found in the beef. They can
also use various hormones and growth regulators that we can't. The
Canadian public needs to be aware of this problem and that they may be
putting themselves at risk from now on by eating at good old
    McDonald's.

Canadian ranchers raise the highest quality beef in the world and this
is what Canadians deserve to eat. Not beef from countries where
quality is loosely controlled. Therefore, I am proposing a boycott of
McDonald's until they see the light.

I'm sorry but everything is not always about the bottom line, and when
it comes to jeopardizing my family's health, that is where I draw the
    line.

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it
    to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at l
east ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the
message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached
    over THREE MILLION consumers!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you?
Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you,
    please pass this message on.

Why do you run a contestest until the 15th of the mth, yet it is only the 6th yet we order 2 meals this evening to hear the contest is now closed and no purchases contain monopoly slips any longer, none of our food purchases contained them???  As well this is my local mc donalds and there has been 3 occassions were I like your most expensive burger on your menu (double quarter ponder with cheese) and nothing in on for the monopoly play. So let me get this straight? the monoply is not worth playing because your suppiers do want to give out tickets to allow your patrions to win. I do have to admit when you come out with your contests I do eat more of your product to try and win but because you are proving your selves to be a sales gimmicks. I will not order again beleive me | I can honestly can live without mcdonalds now believe me when I say at least 10 people I know know how I feel and will think about it next time as well!

My name is Ron Kerr from Hamilton, today April 17th I went to one of your stores to buy one of your " Promotions " that you sent out in a flyer sometime early March about a Special Caramal Ice cream only to be sold in the month of April as an Easter surprise. Well for myself and anybody else from this day forward forget it there all sold out at this store and I was informed no other store had any more either. Easter is still 7 days away and your out. I hope I'm wrong but maybe next time your people are sitting at the round table, Easter is on the 24th so, 7 days before and 7 days after would of made the promotion a win win. Yes you sold out but you Failed on what the promotion was for.

                                                                Thanks Ron

Okay, to 17418045, welcome to retail.  Some not all, but some managers prefer to keep their jobs over actually reporting anything that might cost the company money.  It isn't necessarily the manager but the VP's on up to the CEO's that drill this into you.  Trust me been there done that.

To 18536407, you got food poisoning.  Somebody does somewhere everyday.  Either from restaurants or groceries they themselves have bought.  Welcome to Russian roulette.  You don't want to take the chance, don't eat anymore.  You can give yourself food poisoning just as easily.

To 19255558 what do you expect for an eighteen year old?  He shouldn't have been a manger in the first place.  As for the complaint.  Good luck.  Hope you have better results then the rest of us.

To 19599446  really??  I mean, yes we, Canadians have national pride and all but we're not Americans, we KNOW where we are.  I don't think we need a flag to remind us, even on Canada Day.  And did you think they might have a good reason for not having one up?  Torn that sort of thing?

To 20155602 did you actually go tell them when you noticed or did you 'just not have time?'

To 20237514 they gonna go with the cheapest option they got.  Welcome to economics of the present day.  It's not right and they'll probably be pulling a 'Jack'n the Box' for those of you who remember that chain's problems back in the nineties.

To 21661326 there's this small lettering, usually on the bottom of each slip that states 'contest in effect at location while quanties last.'  You might want to read that little stuff.  Use a magnifying glass if you have to.  Sheesh.  Oh, and they've cut back on the quantities to save money so some regions will actually run out before others do.  It's been a fact of life for a couple of decades at least.

To 23249847 did you ask why they were out?  Or did you just assume that idiots ran the ordering process?  There could have unusual circumstances.  Or it just might not have been a promotion that was going as well as expected and the HO pulled it and sold out of their remaining stock.  Again, as above paragragh points out, there is little lettering usually along the bottom to cover that.

To 23357563 and what were you doing?  Were you there just as they were trying to close?  Because if you were, they have every right to chuck you out on your butt.  They want to go home too and see their families occasionally.  Or did that not cross your mind?

Wow, out of thirteen posts only two were justifiable complaints and one an economic concern.  Most of the rest was sheer silliness on the parts of the posters.  Yes, they might seem like valid complaints to you but the one about the game and the other about the promotion were just.... I have no polite words.  And the one about the flag ...ugh.

I'm not a fan of McDonald's, I don't eat there at all.  My choice.  But I'm not arrogant enough to think that if I don't point out that there is a part for a machine in my drink that it's still the companies fault.  Or that if I'm kicked out of someplace it's the staff that's delivering bad 'customer service.'

I've been on the recieving end of just about all these kinds of silly complaints and for those who were polite enough to point them out and were patient about it I've gone above and beyond to help them where I could.  As for the 'people' who think customer service workers are their own personal punching bags, I've done nothing and will continue to do nothing.  The verbal abuse dolled out by the public, especially to fast food workers and cleaning services is appalling.  And unfortunately, publicly acceptable.

So before anyone else puts a complaint on here, think about what you're complaining about.  Was there something you could have done to help yourself in the situation?  Is it really relevent or did it just irk you?  Will this make you look like some stuck up twit?  Did you read all the little words?  Think about it.
