I started off eating chalk, now I eat dry wall/ sheet rock. I even cut holes in the walss to get it.

   Eating any non-food subtance is dangerous (as all say) but I also have been eating sheetrock too. It is so addicting. The side effect I have (if you eat alot at one time) are abdominal cramps, going to the bathroom is not nice and you are very gassy and the whole world will experience it. I have been doing some research of my own and it seem for me so far. I have been dealing with alot of stress at work and going to school at nights for the past year. Research shows that if you are in a stressful situation for some reason these crazy cravings show up OR you are lacking vitamins. Vitamins such as Iron is a main reason for the craving of chalk, dirt, sheetrock, baby powder etc. I just started this vitamin regime. It is as follows: Multi-Vitamin, Iron, Vitamin C (to make the Iron absorb in you better) and Magnesium to help with the constipation that occurs with taking Iron.  It has been a week and my intake of sheetrock is less. I don't get that mouth watering urge or frenzy to eat it (that much). I hope this will work. I plan to give my self until January 2011 to ween myself off eating sheetrock. If it does not work I will have to suck it up (embarssment) and tell my doctor. I hope you do your search too and get the help to stop eat SHEETROCK
