Toyota Corona is an automobile which is manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota between the year 1957 and 2002. This vehicle was designed by keeping in mind the competition of Nissan Bluebird. The Corona word stands for Crown in Latin. The Corona became very successful in the exports market, sometimes people confuse Corona with Toyota Corolla, although there is difference between these two variants.

The Corona was designed with parts which are manufactured from the previous generation of Crown and Master. It is also available with the ST16/PT16 versions. In the beginning 997cc engine was used. The Tiara was the second generation corolla which was sold with Crown. This car was introduced in the year 1960, it was powered by 1.0 L series motor. Toyota now introduced a powerful 1.5 L R series motor from the Crown which is now with larger 1.9 L engine.

In September 1964, the third generation Corona was introduced with variety of body styles, Apart from the sedan, its variants include 2 door hardtop, 3 door hardtop, 3 door van and a 5 door station wagon. In September 1968, the Corona Mark 2 was released and it was built on completely different platform. The late 60’s and 70’s version of this vehicle was powered by 1900cc 4 cylinder engine.
