Some teenagers fall in and out of love on a whim while others try to play the field and avoid catching feelings. Relationships in your younger years can be valuable learning lessons, providing insight on aspects of a relationship and partner that you apprecaite and others that you could definitely do without. It also helps you realize how to be a better partner and spouse later on in life.

If you are a teenager currently in a relationship that has problems, there are several things you can do to try to solve said issues. Although the advice is easier said than done, there is value in it and I hope it is of help to you. Remember that you are very young, and although things may seem bad, your current 'one and only' could represent nothing more than a short period of your life in the grand scheme of things:

    1. Be as open as possible - always be honest and expressive with how you feel and try your best to be open to criticism, suggestion as well as the other person's problems. Having someone they can lean on will make them realize how special you are.

    2. Don't be drama - drama is the very last thing most people want in a relationship, however many teenagers seem to give it out like it will win them free booze. Be calm and reasonable with your relationship ups and downs. Nothing is the end of the world except for the end of the world.

    3. Are they right for you? This question absolutely has to be asked. Does the person make you want to be a better individual? Do they elevate you in any way? Do they make you fight with your parents and family to be with them? Do they make you hate yourself? If the person you are with doesn't make you better I suggest you move forward.

    4. Are they worth it? You must determine if the person is really worth all of the effort they need or if you are putting in said effort because others think its the right thing. Listen to yourself and think of what is best for you. The world is a better place if you treat people right beginning with yourself.
