Menopause is the transition in the life of a women as her ovaries stop producing eggs, her body now produces less estrogen and progesterone, the menstruation now becomes less frequent, and then it eventually stops.

In some women, menstrual flow comes to a sudden halt and most of the time, after sometime it slowly stops. At this time the menstrual periods normally become either close or widely spaced. Before the end of menstruation the irregularity lasts for about 1-3 years. The cycle might become shorten every 3 weeks.

Some of the common symptoms of Menopause are:

    Pounding of Heart or racing

    Hot Flahes

    Night Sweats

    Skin Flushing

    Sleeping Problems

Some of the other symptoms of menopause are:

Decreased interest in s*x, also there might be a less response to the sexual stimulation

Forgetfulness might occur in some women during Menopause

    Irregular Menstrual Periods

Swings of the mood which include irritability, depression and anxiety

    Leakage of Urine

Vaginal dryness can occur and painful sexual intercourse

    Vaginal infections

    Joint aches and pains

Irregular heartbeat can occur in Menopause

In some of the cases Postmenopausal bleeding might occur. There is no need to worry about all this. However, the health care provider should always check the postmenopausal bleeding, as it may be an early sign of other problems like cancer.

Similarly decrease estrogen levels can cause in cholesterol levels and also cause greater risk to the heart disease.
