dont want period on wedding

my wedding is on the 5th Sept this year.im currently on my period and i went to the doc yesterday who gave me contraceptive pills to start using when im married.
my question is i dont want to get my period on the day of the wedding or a few days before.
can i start taking pills now after i finish my period or do i have to wait until next month to take them for 21 days and stop for a week for my period to come?
im stressed about this and need advice.

    I completely understand where you are coming from. What I can suggest is that you should consult your doctor once again and let him/her know about this as well because I think there are other medicines as well which can stop you from having periods before your wedding. As far as the contraceptive pills are concerned you can also take them but there is no point taking them now. You can also seek advice regarding this from a pharmacist near you as well.

    You need to start taking the pills before one week of your expected period.
