I had a delicious chocolate the other day that was filled with something called marzipan. What is it made of?

Marzipan is a candy like substance that is made from either sugar or honey mixed with almond meal which is comprised of ground almonds. Almond extract or oil are often added to the meal and sugar to amplify the almond flavour.

Once mixed, marzipan can be used in chocolates (as you ate it), shaped on its own as a candy or as a coating for glazing or icing cakes.
